| Welcome to our website! Prairie River Primitives was started in a historical, one room cabin ~still in its original location, nestled on the bank of the Prairie River in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Nine years ago, with the gentle nudge of a good friend, Karen decided to open it up a little more often. We started as a handful of 'at home moms'...making some Christmas money for our families, and from there it has grown and been blessed!

| The cabin was built in 1926 by a gentleman who had fished, hunted and trapped in the area. He then would sell his goods to local restaurants. We wanted to carry on that tradition by selling our 'wares' to those of you who have a heart for a simpler time!

| This business is in honor of my late parents. My mother, who taught me to sew and was quite talented. My father, who had a love for history, antiques, friends and fond memories. My husband, for supporting me in staying home with our children and to my 4 children...who always compliment me on any new creation that I create!
